This time of year, you’re probably looking for as many excuses as possible to spend time outside in the sunshine. The Second Annual Alexandria Old Town Springtime Art Festival presents a perfect opportunity since it will be held in the fresh air of John Carlyle Square.
On May 14th and 15th, the community square will be transformed into an alfresco art exhibit with free admission for everyone from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Despite its young age, the festival is among the country’s top 100 art shows according to Sunshine Artist Magazine. That’s probably due, in part, to the fact that the festival is juried, meaning each artist is carefully handpicked by experts—not just anyone can come and display their works of art. What’s more, the artists hail from all across the nation, which means you’re getting access to true masters. Spend your time strolling through the art festival and feel free to stop and talk with anyone who’s created something that speaks to you. Since everything is for sale, you might find the perfect statement piece for your home along the way!
